In 1997, Kanu Surf set out to build and sell better board shorts for men, women, and children.
Founded right in the heart of the Garment District in New York City, they first sold door-to-door to local surfers, mom and pop surf shops, and a few gift stores at local beaches. A few good years of making waves, always focusing on quality and value, Kanu managed to land on the racks of department stores, sports shops and anywhere swimwear is sold— nationwide.

Fits well once liner removed
Good suit and fits well. Although thats once the liner is removed. The mesh liner is far too small for the size suit. Otherwise its pretty good.

Bought the larger size
I wear a 42 waist blue Jean. I bought the xxl . Says XXL is 44-46. The Xxl fit great. Have two front pockets. Look good and feel good

I ordered a large and have a 36″ waist. These fit perfect but if I was a 38″ i would need an XL.I priced suits at Kohl’s and the cheap ones were over $35.These are a great item for the price!!!

Big booty don’t fit
As other posters have written, the shorts are not fantastic for those of us with big thighs, and the liner has to come out (at a minimum). I wear size 38-40 wasted pants, and the XL was only serviceable after the liner was cut out. I’ll buy a XXL and try again.

Updated: Fit aand Size are great. Good beach shorts.
I usually don’t order shorts or swim trunks online too much can go wrong. These came in and the XL is just right for a 36″-38″. (Update: I ordered a Large Size, they are a little tighter but still fit, I think if you are a 36 large is fine, if 36-38 XL. I like the snugness bit not to snug of the LG for around the water and still comfortable. I like the looseness of XL for overall comfort.) They are light-weight and comfortable. I prefer them as a walk around beach shorts because I can comfortably carry a phone and wallet. But for jumping in and out of the water they are fine also. They are a thin fabric but there is a mesh jockey liner inside. All around I am very pleased with the purchase.

Bought these 11 years ago!
I have been meaning to check when was it I bought those swim trunks. Just finished checking and was surprised to find it was 11 years ago. What was even more shocking, I looked down and I am wearing those shorts. I wear these shorts regularly to bed and around the house as I work from home. I don’t understand how it is possible they are still in very good condition. Even washing them regularly could wear them out but not these.

Fits great
Wore these all day to the water park yesterday. Really comfortable and adjustable. I measured my waist before ordering, and used the size chart, which said I needed a large. It fit great. That is the usual size I buy for sweat pants. It has room to adjust a few inches smaller and a few inches bigger. I did cut out the mesh liner to make it more comfortable. Great deal. Would recommend.

Perfect Fit!
Color: Mileage Navy. Size: 4X (the chart says 4XL is 52 to 54 inch waist) My waist is 53 inches and the fit was perfect. Trunks have 3 mesh pockets. Two are side-seam pockets on the left and right. And the 3rd is directly below the right pocket. It has a Velcro flap closure. The trunks are comfortable and soft. I have yet to wear them in the water but I’m very pleased with them so far.

Buyer Beware – Sizes are all over the place…
I ordered 2 pair of these:Pair #1 – Seaside Black/Aqua Size Medium – The fit was a little bit snug on me (Size 34 waist) but still comfortable.Pair #2 – Nova Black/Aqua Size Medium – The fit was at least a size smaller than it was labeled and I couldn’t even get them on. (exchanging for size Large, hoping they fit better)The material is very comfortable and seems like it will breathe well to/from the beach (going to the Caribbean). The length is just above my knee (Inseam is 32). Overall, I would definitely recommend them for the price.Update: I received the 2nd pair of Size Large Nova Black/Aqua – They are still pretty tight, definitely not a real comfortable fit, but maybe they’ll be okay.

Fitted Netting Sucks
The fitted netting on the inside was too tight and uncomfortable for me and was giving me wedgies in bad places so we cut it out with scissors. After doing that, all was right with the world. They look sharp and it does all the things a bathing suit is supposed to do. I’ve only ever used it in a pool, but I can’t see any reason they’d not be fine in the ocean.

These swim trunks look cool and they fit pretty well although you may need to downsize. I’m 5’5”/140lbs and normally wear mediums but that was too big so I returned it and got a size small. Thankfully Amazon has a good return policy.

3 items arrived a day early which is awesome! I tried all 3 on and they fit nicely. The blue ones had a bunch of stray threads hanging from it that didn’t get cut off so I had to take the extra time to do that. Perhaps a little better quality control is needed. Other than that I have no complaints!

Comfortable Swim Trunks
Very comfortable swim trunks with elastic waist and draw string that doesn’t pinch. They also have nice side pockets and a leg pocket with velcro closure. I have bought these before and found they last 3-4 years before the elastic loses its stretch. Given the modest price, that seems like that is good enough.

Fashionable Trunks
Good swimming trunks. You may need to return it once or twice to get one that’s not damaged in some way: stitching loose or some other defect. I got 2 different colors and had to return both of them and luckily the quality was good the 2nd time. Seems they’re just shipping out the returned items without properly checking them, or they just don’t care.
